Koehlke's History

Our history proves a tradition of this adaptability, innovation, and expansion of our technologies and expertise.

1976
Koehlke Components, Inc., was founded by Elmer Koehlke in September 1976 as a spare parts provider exclusively serving the US Department of Defense.

1979
Steadily growing as a spare parts distributor, Koehlke moved into a 4,000-SF building in the Dayton (OH) suburb of Centerville.

1982
First discussions commenced about becoming an authorized distributor. Koehlke began purchasing material for stock.

1988
Koehlke diversified into other aerospace, ground vehicle, geophysical and other extreme environments, and then ultimately into the commercial arena. Koehlke established itself as a Value Added distributor on the M55302 connector line.

1989
Koehlke is awarded their first volume purchase agreement with Lockheed Martin.

1995
Thomas M. Koehlke, the founder's son, began serving as President.

1997
Launched value added on M28840 and M28876 connector lines.

1999
Koehlke became factory trained on termination of M29504

2002
In early 2002, Koehlke moved to its current 30,000-sf location nestled between Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio.

2006
Koehlke strengthened its footprint as a global company, with the introduction of Koehlke International Ltd. and satellite European and Asian locations.

Tom's vision and work continues to expand the trustworthy, reliable distribution reputation his father established, while driving product innovation and diversification.
